Where Our Story Began
In 1976, Ravi Sehgal opened a modest fabric shop in Bangkok during a period when the city was emerging as a vibrant international crossroads. U.S. servicemen frequently passed through, alongside a growing number of European tourists drawn to Bangkok’s culture and craftsmanship. While many visitors purchased fine fabrics, they often struggled to communicate their tailoring needs due to language barriers. Fluent in English, Ravi naturally stepped in to bridge that gap—unknowingly laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong legacy in bespoke tailoring.
From Translator to Tailor
Ravi saw firsthand how clients struggled to achieve the fit and finish they desired. Determined to offer a better experience, he dedicated four years to mastering advanced tailoring, pattern drafting, and garment construction. His vision was clear: to create garments that fit impeccably—without compromise or miscommunication.
Craftsmanship with Purpose
After years of training and refinement, Ravi assembled a dedicated in-house tailoring team and opened his first store. This marked the beginning of the Ravi Sehgal Bespoke brand—built on honesty, precision, and a sincere commitment to serving clients with care, integrity, and exceptional craftsmanship.
A Legacy Continued
Today, Ravi’s son, Amit, carries the family tradition forward. Overseeing the production house and traveling globally for trunk shows, Amit brings a modern perspective while honoring the values his father established. Together, they represent two generations united by passion, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to true bespoke tailoring.
